Date: Saturday, October 5, 2019 – Rain or Shine!
Time: Please arrive by 8:30 am to sign in and air your dogs. Plan on staying through the early afternoon.
Location: CRTA Training Grounds, T9, Suisun City
Cost: No cost for NORCAL GRC Club Members
$10.00 per dog for non-club members
As we do for our club Flyer Days, these ‘rarer’ retriever breeds (Flat Coat Retrievers, Tollers, and Poodles) are welcome to attend.
PLEASE NOTE: Attendance of at least one club training day will be required for future acceptance to Spring 2020 Flyer Day events (unless you are already participating in an established field training program, and have been out training within 30 days of the flyer day).
Due to changes over the last few years in CRTA booking rules as they apply to member clubs’ flyer days, we are looking at ways to ensure that all teams are given equal time at flyer day events. To help achieve this goal, all dogs attending flyer days are required to be proficient at retrieving dead birds. If your dog is not yet proficient at retrieving birds, we ask that you consider whether a (non-flyer) training day is a more appropriate event to attend, where you can get help from other members and take as much time as you need with your dog.
We will hold club training days in October, November, December, January, and February to encourage as much member participation as possible.
Guest Instructor: Ed Ryska
Ed Ryska is a longtime NORCAL GRC member, and a well-respected field sports competitor. Ed and his wife, Edwina, are also known for their Emberain Golden Retrievers, who have been successful at the highest levels of the field game as well as other performance venues. We are grateful to Ed for running this training day, and participants (both dogs and their handlers) are sure to enjoy the setups!

WC/WCX Test Set-ups
To help prepare for the GRCA National field events, this training day will focus on WC/WCX setups. Since they are only using ducks at this year’s National, we will use ducks for this training day – no pheasants will be used.
Please RSVP to Cassie Isaacson no later than 3 days prior to event with the number of dogs you are bringing (max of three per handler) and their level(s) (from the options below):
- WC
- WCX
- Field Trial

This is a NORCAL Golden Retriever Club training day, so there are no guest fees for Denverton CRTA. However, if you are not a Denverton CRTA member, you will need to sign a hold-harmless form. (If you are a member, but have not signed a form this year, you will also need to sign one.) You will find the hold harmless form here.
Please read the first page AND print out the last page, sign and bring with you. We also have the regular sign in sheet and I will have a separate one for us with everyone’s name on it. This separate sign in page is at the kiosk, please find your name on the sign in form, and leave your hold harmless on the clip board behind the sign-in form. If you are a CRTA member, please still sign in on the separate sign-in sheet with your name on it.
Rules
Please stay on the gravel road and do NOT try to drive around puddles on the side of the road. If you get stuck in the mud and have to have a tow truck come, it is very, very, very expensive and AAA will not come out. In addition, you are responsible for costs to repair any damage to the grounds due to your vehicle.
